Ten E.B., Likhoborov E.Yu., Klyuev M.P. Aluminum recovery at different types of ladle treatment of 110G13L steel
The article is dedicated to the use of Al as a deoxidation agent in the melting of steel. The importance to keep the necessary residual content of aluminum in steel, especially in case of melting of 110G13L-type steel, is shown. Two variants of the ladle treatment of this steel are compared.

Soyfer V.M. On some features of steel casting in foundries
Methods of steel casting in foundries, as well as some aspects of ladle lining, preparation of ladles for melting and steel casting technology are considered in the article.

Malyarov A.I., Vlasova A.A., Batyshev K.A. Features of melting in modern crucible furnaces
The article is dedicated to the problems of melting in induction crucible furnaces (ICF). It is shown that the use of rust scrap and rejected metal with burnings-on increases significantly the duration of melting and power consumption. In addition, increasing in the charge density by grinding of the scrap pieces allows one to decrease the power consumption.

Isagulov A.Z., Ibatov M.K., Kulikov V.Yu., Kvon Sv.S., Arinova S.K. An effect of the porosity of chamotte bricks on their mechanical and operational properties
Investigation results of an influence of the porous structure of chamotte bricks (CB) on their mechanical and operational properties are presented in the article. The macrostructure of the CB is determined by the solid ingredient and pores. In order to achieve auniform porosity, the moulding was carried out within 12 s at the base pressure of 22 MPa, which was raised up to 27 MPa after 7–8 s. Samples were sintered during 12 hours at 1250–1270 °C.

Koloskov S.V., Demianov E.D., Zuykov S.S., Yusipov R.F. Technological features of producing alloy CAM4-1 during the remelting of low grade secondary raw materials
The classification of raw materials on the physical condition, quality of surface and degree of contamination. It is established that application of combined flux leads to acceleration of the melting process and allows to obtain a quality based alloy of low-grade raw materials. Technological efficiency of the combined flux increases as the deterioration of the quality of the initial charge materials.

The article is devoted to the problems of standardization of metal products. It presents a comparison of the basic requirements to the quality of metal products in highly developed countries.

Malinov L.S., Malinov V.L. Nickel-free hard-facing materials causing the self-hardening effect in the built-upmetal under loading
The article describes results of the development of nickel-free hard-facing materials (HFM) for a wide range of applications. These materials create a metastable austenite in the built-up metal structure of different structural classes, which transforms to a deformation martensite when subjected to loading (the effect of self-hardening under loading), and provides protection against failure.

Orlov G.V., Titov V.I. X-ray fluorescence and optical-emission methods for the analysis of aviation alloys
The paper shows the use of X-ray fluorescence and optical-emission analysis methods to determine the contents of the main alloying elements and macro impurities in aviation materials. X-ray fluorescence method allows to work in two versions: to conduct a study of the chemical composition of materials using standard samples of the composition of alloys, thereby providing a quantitative analysis of materials and without using standard samples in a semi-quantitative version. The advantage of method is the possibility of carrying out chemical analysis in the express mode (during the melting process of the material).

Afanasyev V.K. Hydrogen metallurgy. Philosophy and practical significance
The work considers the philosophical elements of metallurgy, analyzed is the development of ideas about the origin of chemical elements and the four elements, using the results of Space studies. Proposed are new ideas about the star-related origin of chemical elements – it being the waves from which the Earth, Water, Air and Fire are formed. The Space consists of hydrogen – the original matter, the result of its activities being the planet Earth. It is concluded that metals are a compacted part of the element Earth. Some examples of the practical significance of philosophical ideas, which are the essence of hydrogen metallurgy, are given.

Eldarkhanov А.S., Nuradinov А.S., Tepsaev А.N., Uzdieva N.S., Akhtaev S.S-S. Modeling of metal flow in the intermediate ladle of CCM by modern methods
Theoretical analysis of the liquid metal flow in the intermediate ladle (IL) of CCM in case of inert gas blowing was carried out. Hydrodynamic parameters of the liquid metal flow in the limited space of IL of the continuous casting machine (ССМ) at argon blowing are determinedby the methods of physical and mathematical simulation. The distance between the tuyere and the center of the ladle and the angle of tuyere inclination to the vertical were consideredas adjustable parameters of blowing.
