Kovtunov A.I., Khokhlov Y.Y. , Novsky I.V. The prospect of using magnesium for foam production
Existing methods of producing foam have significant disadvantages: low porosity and unstable performance of the process. Proposed method of forming porous articles of aluminum and magnesium, which are used for granules of a water soluble salt, provides the ability to control pore size and a sufficiently high productivity of the process. In this paper, the processes of formation of penomagniya impregnation liquid magnesium melt form with backfilling of the water-soluble salts. The results of studies of the physical - mechanical properties penomagniya obtained by the proposed technology. Key words: foam, water-soluble salts, filtration, granules, magnesium.

This article gives an analysis of the equilibrium of the gas, a drop of melt contain ng the germ of the solid phase, which rest on any solid substrate. The possibility by determining the wetting angle of molten refractory compounds to assess their ability to initiate heterogeneous nucleation during the crystallization Found that the greatest effect of heterogeneous nucleation of austenite and graphite can be expected on particles of carbides and nitrides of Zr and Ti, and inoculation by particles of SiO2, Al2O3 and Al in iron alloys are not observed Key words: method of stationary drops, heterogeneous nucleation, the wetting angle, inoculation, ironcarbon alloys.

The regularities of the influence of copper on the linear expansion of aluminum and silicon alloy. It is established that the addition of copper reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion (FLR) high silicon silumins to low values. The paper discusses the prospects for the application of the alloys studied to replace the iron-nickel alloys with small and medium FLR. Bialobrzeski A., Saja K., Zmudzinska M. Studies of the Corrosion Behaviour of Selected Wrought Mg-Li Alloys
Analysis of literature and own research conducted at the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow and at the AGH Department of Non-Ferrous Metals under the EU Project № POIG.01.03.01-00-015/09 "Advanced materials and technologies for their production", " Task III.5.1 Ultralight profiles extruded from the new magnesium-lithium alloysindicate that the as-cast mechanical properties of Mg-Li alloys" are relatively low, which limits their practical use. However, subjected to plastic forming, these alloys show a huge potential as regards the opportunities of obtaining a growth in both mechanical ahd plastic properties. The presented results of corrosion studies of the as-cast Mg-Li alloys are a fragment of the ongoing work. Konokotin S.P., Moiseyeva N.S. Effect of Crystallization Method on the Structure of a Ni-Al Alloyafter High-Temperature Heating
Investigation into a cast Ni-Al alloy of the intermetallide class produced by electromagnetic treatment (EMT) during the equiaxial crystallization followed by hightemperature heating showed the presence of homogeneous phase distribution that provides high thermal stability beneficially influencingthe physical-and-mechanical properties of the alloy as compared to the single-crystal structure of the alloy obtained by the method of directional crystallization (DC). Khristenko V.V., Rudenko M.A., Kirievsky B.A. Effect of (Fe-Cr-C) addition composition on electrical conductivity of Cu-alloys at elevated temperatures
The temperature dependence of different composition monotectical strengthened copper-based Cu-(Fe-Cr-C) alloys electrical resistance has been investigated. Among the investigated alloys the best combination of mechanical properties and electrical conductivity at temperatures above 600°C has alloy obtained by adding to copper melt (Fe-Cr-C) addition containing 16 wt. % chromium and 1.4 wt. % carbon. Keywords: copper, dispersion strengthening, electrical conductivity, politerm of electrical resistance.

Nikitin K.V., Nikitin V.I., Amosov A.P. Cast Al Composites Reinforced and Modified with Nonmetallic Nanoparticles
The review of a current state of liquid-phase technologies of receiving the aluminum alloys reinforced by disperse nonmetallic particles is executed. The main tendencies in development of technologies for reinforcing and modifying of aluminum alloys by nanodimensional nonmetallic particles are shown. The main advantages of process of Self-Propogating High-Temperture Synthesis (SHS-process), as in-situ method, for preparation Aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) and master-alloys (AMCM-As) are designated. Physical ways of treatment of aluminum melts are the perspective and reasonable direction in technologies for preparation of AMCs.
