Panov A.G., Shaekhova I.F. Technological heredity of 20Mn steel castings undergoing normalization
The paper presents the results of a study of the technological heredity of the properties of 20Mn steel during normalization, namely the influence of the features of the normalization process (furnace type, arrangement of castings in the furnace, scale factor of castings, parameters of temperature and holding time) on its microstructure and mechanical properties in samples and castings. The relevance of the work is due to the problems of high defects in the microstructure and mechanical properties of steel castings, especially impact toughness at a temperature of -60 °C. It is shown that the main cause of the problem is the random presence in the microstructure of normalized steel castings of hereditary structures of acircular ferrite (Widmanstatten) and pearlite frame.

Senopalnikov V.M., Sivkov V.L., Degterev E.G. On the formation of the structure of steel ingots and the possibility of suppressing macrodefects using MHD exposure
The aim of this work was to develop a technology for improving the quality of forged steel ingots. Taking into account convection and shrinkage movements of the solidifying melt, a mechanism for the formation of macrodefects and a method for their suppression based on MHD action are proposed. Experiments were conducted on MHD effects on industrial forging ingots weighing 8 tons made of grade 40 steel. It was shown that the tested technology allows suppressing the development of the most difficult to eliminate defect of a steel ingot - off-axis heterogeneity. The main provisions of the proposed model of formation of the structure and heterogeneity of the ingot have been experimentally confirmed.
Keywords:Steel forging ingot, isolated crystals, convection, shrinkage movements of melt, structural heterogeneity, liquation, velocity gradient.
Ri E.Kh., Kim E.D., Doroshenko K.V., Popova V.S. Influence of dispersing thermite mixtures on the formation of structure in alloys of the system Al-Ti-Cr-Ni-V-Zr synthesized by SHS metallurgy
Using methods of optical and electron microscopy, micro-X-ray spectral and X-ray structural analysis, the features of structure formation and liquidation processes in the structural components of high-entropy alloys of the system Al-Ti-Cr-Ni-V-Zr synthesized by SHS metallurgy were studied. Regularities of changes in the structure and distribution pattern of elements in the structural components of cast alloys depending on the preliminary preparation of thermite mixtures (charge) — dispersion in different media (in air, in argon atmosphere, and in isopropyl alcohol medium) have been revealed.

Shaikhutdinova I.I. Automated quality control systems in the production of aluminum alloy castings
The article discusses promising technologies for automated quality control of aluminum alloy castings. Modern systems of non-destructive testing, methods of computer modeling and artificial intelligence in casting quality management are analyzed. Special attention is paid to digital counterparts of production processes and automated visual control systems. The directions of further development of intelligent systems for monitoring the quality of castings are proposed.

Nalimov A.Yu., Chernenko A.V., Sirotkin D.E. Experience in using Bentacarb as a binder for wet sand-clay forms
The article describes the binder "Bentakarb" for sand casting molds. The purpose, composition, main properties and features of the use of the binder "Bentakarb" are given. The effect of replacing bentonite with the binder "Bentakarb" on the surface defects of castings made of high-strength cast iron and the labor intensity of finishing operations is shown.

Nikitin K.V., Dyachkov V.N., Evtushenko S.V. Research on the possibility of using artificial boxite sand «AFS» mark for the manufacture of single-use casting forms
The article presents the results of comparative studies on the effect of the type of refractory filler on the physical and technological properties of cold-hardening mixtures. It has been established that mixtures based on bauxite fused sands AFS55 have higher values of tensile strength and gas permeability compared to mixtures based on crystalline sand. At the same time, the shedding of a mixture based on bauxite fused sand is 57% lower than that of a mixture based on crystalline sand. Due to the increased heat dissipation of bauxite fused sand, the solidification time of A99 aluminum casting in the mold is reduced by 25%, and the macro-grain size is reduced by 2.5 times compared to the mold based on crystalline sand.
Keywords:Single-use casting molds, crystalline and bauxite fused sands, properties of cold-hardening mixtures.
