Tribushevskiy L.V., Nemenenok B.M., Rumiantseva G.A. Fluxless melting of aluminum waste – the way to nonwaste technology
The influence of technology of aluminum waste melting in a short-rotary furnace (SRF) on the amount and composition of dust and gas emissions is analyzed. Based on the results of the chemical analysis of dust, a solution was adopted for the fluxless melting of aluminum waste. In this case, the proportion of chlorine-containing compounds is 1,4% at 75% of aluminum oxides, which makes it possible to use the formed dust to produce a deoxidizing mixture or thinner of refiner slag. On the basis of balance meltings it is shown that with fluxless melting of aluminum waste, a waste-free processing technology is realized, ensuring ecological and economic effects.
Key words:Aluminum waste, dust, aluminum oxide, nonwaste technology.

Soyfer V.M. About refractory clay as a part of monolithic acid lining of walls of arc steel-melting furnaces
Processing characteristics of refractory mixtures are presented and the need for introduction of refractory clay into refractory mixtures is shown. The following aspects are described: ion exchange in clay, the stickiness of clay, and the interaction of clay with liquid glass and sodium hydroxide NaOH, the role of clay at high temperatures, the mineralogical composition of clay. The results of studies and selection of the optimal clay content in the refractory mixtures, an effect of its content on the refractoriness and gas permeability of the refractory mixtures, and the results of the development of the optimal composition of refractory mixtures are presented.

Shipitsin S.Ya., Ostash O.P., Kulik V.V., Kirchu I.F., Novitsky V.G. New steel for railway wheels of enhanced service lifes
Low alloy steel is proposed for railway wheels, which differs from the used types of steels by higher content of vanadium and chromium. The properties of the new steel at room and low (-40°C) temperatures are presented.
Key words:Steel, railway wheels, chemical composition, properties, application.

Rudenko S.P., Valko A.L., Sandomirski S.G. Benefits of using low alloy steels for heavily loaded gears
Examples of the main types of destruction of high-loaded gears of transmissions of automobile and tractor vehicles are given. It is shown that to increase the resistance of contact fatigue, it is important to ensure high micro hardness in the zone of maximum depth contact stresses. The results of applying traditional and economically alloyed steels for high-loaded gears of transmissions are compared. The advantages of using economically alloyed steel are shown (simple heat treatment mode and less deformation of parts after it). This steel is recommended for the manufacture of highly loaded gears.
Key words:Transmission gears, deformation, destruction, chemical heat treatment, cemented layers, mechanical characteristics.

Davydov D.M., Titov V.I., Izotova E.N., Petrov G.V. Determination of the content of diffusion-moving hydrogen in sreels with a martensity structures
We studied the VNS-5 and VNS-43 steels with different contents of diffusion-mobile hydrogen. For this purpose, a series of experiments was carried out during which the studied steel samples were heated by varying the heating temperature at a constant heating time (2000 s). It was established that the optimal temperature for heating the sample should be at the level of 520°C. When varying the experimental time from 1200 to 3000 s, it was found that in order to obtain optimal analysis results, the time should be 2000 s. The result of this work is a method for measuring the content of diffusion-mobile hydrogen in steels with a martensitic structure on a Bruker G4 Phoenix analyzer with a determination range from 0.000010 to 0.000300% of the mass, with established accuracy indicators.
Key words:Aviation materials, steels, hydrogen embrittlement, diffusion-mobile hydrogen, G4 Phoenix analyzer.

Komarov A.A., Walter A.I. Properties of castings made of an alloy produced from Sintikom composite material
In the work, the process of obtaining a casting from composite material with a synth of the brand SK-30B in an arc steel-smelting furnace was investigated. The samples obtained from casting for tensile and compression were tested. Comparison of mechanical properties with a chemically similar cast iron of grade CH2 was carried out.
Key words:Synthycom, carbon monoxide, composite materials for the production of steels, cast iron, carbon content, electric melting.

Ri E.Kh., Prikhodko A.A., Slavinskaya N.A. Structure forming and properties of VAL10 cast alloy modified with cerium and lanthanum
The features of the formation of structural components of the VAL10 alloy under the influence of cerium and lanthanum added as modifiers are studied. Modification of the alloy with Ce (? 0.1%) and La (? 0.15%) contributes to a sharp refinement of the structural components of the ?-solid solution and eutectic followed by the subsequent slight enlargement to 0.3% Ce and La. The regularities of changes in the composition of the ?-solid solution, eutectics of different compositions and origins and in their microhardness were stated depending on the proportion of Ce and La additives.

Marukovich E.I., Panteleenko F.I., D’yakonov О.М., Litvinko А.А., Sereda V. Yu. Obtaining high-qualitymetallurgical raw materials from wases of metal-processing production
The work describes the technological process of hot briquetting of waste from metalworking production, which ensures complete cleaning of metal from oil and surfactants and, in essence, is a way of converting fine and fine metal waste into bulky scrap metal. Recommendations are given on the application and optimization of hot briquetting modes for steel and cast-iron shavings, grinding swarfs, and finegrained screenings of ferroalloys. Much attention is paid to the preliminary operations of cleaning metal waste from impurities: washing and magnetic separation of grinding sludge, mechanical drying of slurry powders.
