Boldyrev D.A., Zharkov V.I., Pichugin A.A. Methods of Graphitizing Inoculation of Irons and Control of their Inoculation Degree
There are described methods of graphitizing inoculation of irons, general mechanism of inoculating action. Based on experimental data there has been built a dependence of the quantity of inclusions on the holding time of iron melt. There has been made a conclusion on the highest effectiveness of graphitizing inoculation on the stream. Requirements on that inoculation method and the equipment to be used have been described and substantiated. A method of controlling the inoculation degree of gray iron when treated with a graphitizing inoculant on the stream during mold pouring has been developed. Key words: cast iron, inoculation, ageing, doser.

Ivanovа V.A., Popov M.A., Turov A.M. Influence fineness of foundry coke on its porosity
Probes of open porosity of foundry coke by a direct microscopic method are conducted. Results of dependence of indicators of open porosity of foundry coke from a class on the sizes of pieces are presented. Key words: foundry coke, porosity, indicators of open porosity, class on the sizes of pieces.

Dzhurayev T.D., Gazizova E.R., Toshev M.T. On the Microinhomogeneity and Formation Mechanism of Chemically Structured Units Performing the Role of Melt Structure Elements
Based on crystal-chemical interpretation of heredity, there has been discussed and proposed a new approach to the problem of microinhomogeneous state of melt, and established a formation mechanism of chemically structured heredity units performing the function of melt structure elements (MSE) in the charge - melt -solid system. Key words: microinhomogeneity, inheritance, melt structure elements, chemically structured units, quasichemical and colloidal melt models, genes, cluster, embryo, nucleus, crystallization center, water, carbon, diamond.

Nikitin M.S., Ryabov A.V. Structural Strength of Free-Machining Steels Containing Tin

Ivanov D.O., Khomenkova M.G., Prosviryakov A.S., Abuzin Y.A. Investigation of Structure Formation Precursors of Composite Glasses in the Al-SiO2 System
A study of the structure and mechanical properties of composite samples of glasses in the Al-glass (SiO2). The study showed that with increasing annealing time structure of the samples of composite glass is stabilized and increases their microhardness compared with the original glass. According to the results of tests on the three-point bending at room temperature, determined that the original glass is more durable composite samples of glass, but when assessing the stability of the samples at elevated temperatures (up to 1000°C), theglass softens already at 700°C, and composite samples of the glass remains in its original state even if 1000°C. Key words: aluminum, mullite, glass, three-point bending strength.

Mokritsky B.Y., Sablin P.A., Otryaskina T.A., Sobolev Y.Y., Pustovalov D.A. On the Possibilities of Managing the Properties of Carbide-Tipped Tooling
Powder metallurgy method is unique in management capabilities of physical and mechanical characteristics of the manufactured material. In this paper it is used in two ways: - Interruption of the process of sintering carbide for pre-sintered alloy billets; - Forming a fiber preform from different powder mixtures for subsequent sintering. The first way is carried out by doping ions of refractory metals, which can inhibit the diffusion of carbon from the grains of tungsten carbide cobalt in the bunch and, thus, improves the heat resistance of the alloy. The second way allows you to combine in a singleproduct high strength and ductility of the outer layer of the core, which is convenient for alternating loads. Key words: powder metallurgy, increasing usability tools of hard alloys, two-stage sintering of doping, co-extrusion of different powders.

Kazakov Y.V., Kuvshinova N.N. Effectiveness of Additions to Thermit Charge for Welding Minor Defects in Steel Parts
The research on doping thermit steel at a small portion of the charge and the technological feasibility of the introduction of additives in a small portion of the charge. Key words: thermit charge, alloying of thermit steel, process additions.

Broytman O.A. Modified Mould Design for Production of Large Scale Steel Forging Ingots without Centerline Weakness
The casting procedure usually leads to the so called centerline weakness that is caused by the non-unidirectional solidification within the ingot. It is proposed to modify the moulds for large scale steel ingots by adding cavities, also referred to as pockets, inside their upper parts. These cavities are then filled with a heat insulating material like for example usual foundry sand. A suitable positioning of these cavities as well as the suitable choice of filling materials leads to a change in the heat transfer from the ingot, allowing a safe unidirectional solidification. The proposed solution allows an economic and effective way of controlling the solidification process, thus allowing the cast of nearly defect-free heavy steel ingots. Key words: steel forging ingot, centerline weakness, unidirectional solidification, mould design, computer modeling.

Veselovsky A.A. Contact Surface Roughness of Gears with an Antifriction Coating
Presents research on the effects of anti-friction coatings, applied in a mechanical way, on the contact surfaces of the teeth cast-iron gear wheels, pre-prior subjected to thermal diffusion of vanadium powder mixture contact method. Key words: antifriction coatings, cast-iron gear wheels, vanadyl coating on cast iron.
