Prakht V.A., Petrov A.Y., Sarapulov F.N. Application of Heredity Algorithms in Designing An Induction Heating Unit for Moving Tubing Stock
The article is dedicated to designing an induction unit for moving tubing stock. The article discusses related problems without which it is impossible to effectively resolve the control problem: building a software package that allows to automate the process of designing an inductor for induction heating units (IHU) for moving hollow cylindrical (tubing) stock.
Key words: induction heating, optimal design

Ri Khosen, Ri E.K., Zhivetyev A.S., Khimukhin S.N., Bulachok A.I. Thermal and Thermal-Speed Treatment of Copper and Complexly Alloyed Tin Bronze in Liquid State
The paper presents the research results of the influence of thermal and thermo-high-speed treatment of melt of cuprum and complexalloyed tin bronze on its structure, crystallization and structure formation processes. Regularities of structure change, crystallization parameters and structure formation depending on melt overheating and cooling rate are stated.
Keywords: cuprum, fluid phase, electro-resistance, disordered structure, mechanical properties, temperature threshold of abnormal electroresistance change.

Makhov S.V., Tararyshkin V.I., Popov D.A. Magnesium-Lead and Aluminum-Cerium Master Alloys
This article discusses problems and prospects of making magnesium-lead and aluminumcerium master alloys, presents state diagrams, section microstructures, melt density calculation formulae, and process parameters of making such master alloys.
Key words: master alloy, magnesium, aluminum, lead, cerium, alloy.

Nikitin K.V., Timoshkin I.Y., Nikitin V.I., Chikova O.A., Brodova I.G., Konstantinov A.N., Ovchinnikov G.V. Effect of Special Treatment Methods on Melt Properties and Structure of A34 Solder Alloy
Heredity effect of thermal-temporal treatment (TTT) and inoculation of Al-Cu-Si system melt on structure-sensitive properties (SSP) – viscosity, surface tension, wetting angle – of melt and structure of A34 solder alloy was investigated. It was found that at overheating the melt up to 1050°C hysteresis is fixed on viscosity polytherms, and the wetting angle increases abnormally. Complex action on the melt by TTT method and inoculation with additions of microcrystalline remelt is conducive to substantial refinement of primary silicon crystals in the cast structure of A34 solder alloy.
Key words: thermal-temporal treatment, soldering, solder alloy, aluminum alloy, charge, heredity coefficient.

Zhukov L.F., Bogdan A.V., Smirnov M.I. New Technologies of Continuous Measurement of Liquid Iron Temperature in Metallurgical Units
The authors have developed lightguide and spectral- compensation (SCMT technologies) technologies of continuous measurement of liquid iron temperature that, are worldwide first to make it possible to monitor iron temperature with errors of ? 1% (usually 0.5 … 0.8% for p=0.95) and to lower power consumption and loss of charge materials, as well as increase lining service life and productivity of metallurgical units.
Key words: monitoring, pyrometer, metallurgical unit, temperature.

Yakovleva S.P., Makharova S.N., Mordovskoy P.G., Borisova M.Z., Vinokurov G.G. Wear Resistance and Friction Surface of Low-Alloy Steel with Different Grain Size
To recommend optimal modes of treating the surface layer of a material to obtain stable wearresistant structures, the evolution of different types of steel structure and the peculiarities of formation of wear surface were studied by assessing their resistance to destruction at friction. It was shown that the improvement of wear resistance of steel with submicron structure is caused by a combination of various hardening factors –small grain size and high dislocation density.
Key words: wear resistance, surface layer, deformation, dislocation density, grain.

Bazyleva O.A., Bondarenko Y.A., Timofeyeva O.B., Chabina Y.B. Intermetallide Compositions Based on Ni3Al as Alloyed with Rhenium
A comparative investigation into the structure, time before destruction, and segregation inhomogeneity of monocrystal specimens with crystallographic orientation <111> of intermetallide compositions based on Ni3Al at static tension tests at 1100°C, depending on alloying with Re was conducted. A positive role of Re in enhancement of functionability of intermetallide alloys at high temperatures was shown.
Key words: long-term strength, rhenium, coefficient of segregation inhomogeneity, directional crystallization, intermetallide Ni3Al, monocrystal structure.

Dostovalov D.V., Gordiyenko P.S. Effect of Concentrated Energy Sources on the Structure and Properties of Fe-C Alloys
The work shows the effect of plasma-surface hardening (PSH) on the improvement of surface layer properties of cast iron specimens, including microhardness.
Key words: plasmatron, arc discharge, microhardness, ledeburite, hardened layer.
