Frolov A.A., Abakumov A.A., Suslin Yu.I., Kiselyov V.M., Aleksakhin A.V. Thermohardening of the cast side frames of trucks of freight wagons of steel 20 GFL to increase their durability
The complex of mechanical properties of cast side frames of trucks of freight wagons made of low-carbon low-alloy steel 20 GFL, which have undergone thermal hardening (quenching and tempering) after normalization, is presented. It is justified to increase the durability of the side frames by improving the microstructure of steel (sorbitol tempering).
Keywords: Cast side frame, durability, thermal hardening, quenching, self-release.

Murataev F.I. Тhe composition and morphology of the phases of the microstructure of cast turbine blades
The microstructure states of cast cooled turbine blades of IN-738LC alloy of gas pumping device after imitation bench tests for fatigue are investigated. The alloy microstructure has been analyzed in a wide range of resolution of the maоtrix composition and morphology characteristics and strengthening phases, and microdamage to the blade metal has been determined. The alloying elements of the IN-738LC alloy have been ranked by importance and quantity: in the duplex base, interstitial phases and intermetallic phase, which have a positive and negative effect on the bearing capacity of cast blades during testing. The established patterns of matching the characteristics of the structure and microdamage to the IN-738LC alloy make it possible to recommend significant indicators for quality control of castings – according to the identified regulations for the values of the characteristics of the matrix structure and strengthening phases of the cast blades.
Keywords: IN-738LC alloy, microstructure, casting.

Kalinichenko U.A., Dolhii L.P. Induction melting of high alloyed alloys
The paper considers the advantages of induction melting in a vacuum environment, ensuring the production of high-alloy alloys based on refractory components, free from harmful impurities with specified properties. The processes occurring in alloys during melting, holding and pouring are considered. The resulting alloys are primarily planned to be used as protective coatings for composite materials. These alloys include refractory wear-resistant alloys, such as the Cu-Ti system and high-entropy alloys, which are compositions containing from 5 to 13 elements with approximately equal concentrations. The structure of the resulting material and the distribution of elements over the ingot cross-section are presented.
Keywords: Induction melting, lining, degassing, refining, composite materials, complex-alloyed refractory alloys, high-entropy alloys.

Mikhailov O.V., Yemelyanov V.O., Druzhevsky M.A., Sokolov A.V. Features of the application of liquid glass cold-hardening sands with ester hardeners for production of large shapes and rods
The article deals with the manufacture of molds and rods for large castings using liquid-glass mixtures cured with esters. The results of the study of the effect of the liquid glass module on the curing of mixtures with various hardeners in terms of survivability are presented. The difficult curing of mixtures in closed volumes has been revealed, which can lead, in production conditions, to the collapse of large molds during broaching. The optimal values of the liquid glass modulus for large molds and rods have been determined.
Keywords: Liquid glass mixtures, liquid glass, liquid hardeners (esters), liquid glass module, difficult curing of the mixture.

Sergeyev E.A., Zavalishin I.V. A practice-oriented approach to commissioning and testing of mixture preparation technology based on a modern continuous mixer
The article describes the experience of debugging the interaction of a universal continuous auger mixer, sand and two components for the Alpha-set process within a specified time period by independently regulating the air flow through the mixer nozzles using a pneumatic throttle. Despite the sufficient amount of information on typical designs of continuous mixers and the components they are used with, in practice there may be nuances that are not taken into account when developing a technological process implemented on this equipment. One of these nuances is the result of the interaction of the hardener with air during its passage through the feed nozzles into the mixing chamber, at a standard pressure in the pneumatic line of the enterprise of 0.6 MPa: standard materials were used in the process of preparing the mixture, but the mixture did not harden within 30 minutes specified by the technology. The solution to this problem proposed by the authors – installing pneumatic throttles in pneumatic tubes in front of the nozzles – is a relatively inexpensive and at the same time effective way to debug the process when using any materials.
Keywords: Sand, resin, catalyst, Alpha-Set process, continuous mixer, mixture curing time.

Lazarenkov A.M., Ivanov I.A., Sadokha M.A., Novik A.A. The state and prognosis of occupational diseases in foundries
The influence of working conditions on workers in the foundry is considered. The results of the analysis of occupational diseases in foundries with different production patterns are presented. It is noted that the largest number of occupational diseases at the place of their occurrence falls on the stumping, molding and melting-casting sections of foundries, and the largest number of cases in workshops with different types of production - on the profession of a stumper, shaper, smelter, filler and repairman.
Keywords: Foundry, injury rates, forecasting, working conditions, nature of production, profession, employee
