Iakovlev E.I. Production of castings from Ni-based superalloys with a fine-grained equiaxial structure and reduced porosity
As part of this work, the basic possibility to manufacture a casting with a fine-grained equiaxial structure and reduced porosity is shown using an experimental casting of a simple configuration with massive sections. The first production of a casting with a fine-grained structure within its bulk without the use of surface and bulk modifiers was the result of this work. Thereby, a predominant macro-grain size of up to 0.3 mm (after removal of the surface burn-in) and the bulk porosity level up to 0.19 % (as it is provided by the directional solidification process) were achieved in castings with variable massive cross-sections of 45 and 60 mm in diameter and a length of 260 mm made from two Ni-based superalloys without using hot isostatic pressing.
Key words:Casting, Ni-based superalloys, structure, porosity, large-size castings.

Zenkin R.N., Komarova A.R. Non-metallic inclusions and gases in AK12 silumin
It is shown that light-gray phases are formed on AK12 alloy templates (sections for studying the structure). Their chemical composition is studied; the ways to remove non-metallic inclusions and gases from the alloy are shown.
Keywords:Aluminum alloys, silumins, non-metallic inclusions, porosity.

Livshits V.B., Kushnir A.P., Mamedova I.Yu. An influence of iron and manganese on non-metallic inclusions in aluminum alloys
The influence of iron and manganese on the processes of their modification under conditions of casting with back pressure is considered. The effect of nonmetallic inclusions with their increase on the strength and plasticity of Al–Si-alloys is investigated.
Keywords:Aluminum-silicon alloys, modification, non-metallic inclusions, back-pressure casting.

Leushin I.O., Leushina L.I., Markov A.I. Casting equipment for the manufacture of rods from mixtures with a binder based on a combination of inorganic salts
In foundry production, the problem of versatility, as well as the durability of foundry equipment, remains relevant. The article discusses the design of a rod box for the manufacture of rods based on a combination of inorganic salts. The choice and use of such boxes contributes to a significant reduction in the technological process of manufacturing rods, as well as the design time of casting equipment.
Keywords:Core box, casting core, core mixture, binder, inorganic salt, evacuation.

Kulikov V.Yu., Kvon S.S., Alina A.A. Determination of the optimal operational parameters of the casting mold
The dependences of the value of the applied load on the sand-resin mixture, the sand fraction and the temperature of the plate pattern with the model on the gas permeability and compressive strength of the shell mold are determined. It is shown that the application of pressure to the sand-resin mixture during the formation of the shell reduces significantly the roughness of its working surface and increases the surface finish of the castings.
Key words:Sand-resin mixtures, shape, flask, gas permeability, roughness.

Koreniugin S.V., Rovin S.L. Laboratory methods for the study of rod mixtures at high temperatures
The article presents an analysis of laboratory methods for studying temperature and phase expansions and changes in the properties of molding and core mixtures during heating. The analysis of laboratory equipment offered on the Belarusian market for high-temperature testing of molding materials and mixtures is carried out, the methodology for conducting such tests using devices from leading world manufacturers is described. The results of high-temperature test tests of mixtures based on furan binders are presented.
Keywords:Properties of mixtures at high temperatures, phase and temperature expansions, defects of castings, cutting, finning.

Svinoroev Yu.A., Ryabichev V.D., Gutko Yu.I., Batyshev K.A., Semenov K.G. Binder materials based on the domestic raw materials source
The domestic raw materials source has a great potential for growth, which can be in demand in the current political and economic conditions. First of all, it can be attributed to liquid glass, lignosulfonate and metal phosphate binders. Lignosulfonate binders are easy to manufacture, environmentally friendly, not expensive and not in short supply. Their use as binders in casting production is constrained by low binding capacity, instability of properties, and high hygroscopicity of cores and molds.
Keywords:Blends, binders, lignosulfonates, applications.

Castiglioni C., Gridina T.M. Ingot feeding systems. Analysis of fibers behavior before/after casting
The review presents a study by Jodovit S.r.l., during which a comparison was made of linings made from raw materials containing refractory ceramic fibers RCF and linings made by Jodovit S.r.l. from innovative raw materials. During these tests, the analysis of morphological and chemical transformations occurring in these products before and after casting was carried out. The results obtained showed that replacing traditional products containing ceramic fibers with alternatives that do not contain RCF guarantees the same metallurgical quality of products with a significant increase in health safety, which can be guaranteed at the workplace.
Keywords:Refractory ceramic fibers, carcinogenic, foundry aids, lining, riser, feeder, sleeve, ingot, casting detail, casting process.
