Ten E.B., Batyshev A.I. Controlling the structure and hardness of Fe-Si-Al cast alloy
Studies of an effect of the cooling rate at solidification and modification with rare-earth metals on the grain size and hardness of Fe-Si-Al cast alloy showed that a 1.6–3.6 times decrease in the cast grain size can be achieved by increasing the cooling rate during the casting process. When the Fe-Si-Al alloy is modified with a REM-bearing modifier (0.04 and 0.06%), the cast grain size, as compared with that of a unmodified alloy, decreases from 151 down to 88 and 48 ?m or by 27 and 60%, respectively. Refining of the cast structure alongside with a significant increase in hardness is provided due to an increase in melt cooling rate during the casting process, and modifying the alloy with a REM.

Desnitskaya L.V., Desnitsky V.V., Matveyev I.A. Consideration of the stress-strain state of solidifying steel castings in the process of their production
The conditions to manufacture high-quality steel castings for critical purposes are considered on the base of the results of simulation of their solidification processes and subsequent operation.
Key words:Steel casting, stress state, difficult-to-produce structures, shrinkage defects.

Dubodelov V.I., Seredenko V.A., Zatulovsky A.S., Kosinskaya A.V., Seredenko E.V. Peculiarities of an influence of a constant magnetic field on Al-alloys
It has been established, that when Al-Mn, Al-Ti, Al-Zr, Al-Cr, Al-Mn-Ti and Al-Ti-Zr alloys are subjects to influence of a constant magnetic field and transition metals, a-solid solution of aluminum grains and inclusion of intermetallic are dispersed and compacted. The microhardness of inclusions and wear resistance of alloys increase.
Key words:Aluminum alloys, transition metals, cast structure, constant magnetic field.

Vdovin K.N., Feoktistov N.A., Pivovarova K.G., Ponamareva T.B. Application of x-ray fluorescence analysis for the study of the chemical composition of non-stick casting paints
The paper presents the results of the study of the chemical composition of non-stick aqueous zircon paint and its components (zirconium concentrate and bentonite) by x-ray fluorescence method on the Quant’X spectrometer. It is shown that the data of x-ray fluorescence analysis can be used as the primary signs for the diagnosis of the mineral composition of bentonite. Input control of zircon concentrate and bentonite will allow to exclude quickly low-quality raw materials for receiving a non-stick paint and will provide production of steel castings with high degree of purity of a surface.
Key words:Оn-stick paints, x-ray fluorescence analysis, zircon concentrate, bentonite, chemical composition.

Illarionov I.E., Strelnikov I.A., Sadetdinov Sh.V., Moiseeva O.V., Korolev A.V. Influence of boric acid on physico-mechanical characteristics of thermal insulation mixtures used in foundry manufacture
The paper deals with heat-insulating insulation mixtures used to improve the supply of castings from the profit side. In the composition of heat-insulating mixtures, boric acid is recommended with metal-phosphate binders and additives of sawdust, wood flour, kaolin clay, aluminum powder, ecowool, trefoil, peat and other materials.
Key words:Heat-insulating metal-phosphate mixtures, alumochromophosphate and magnesiumaluminophosphate binders, boric acid, wood flour and wood sawdust, kaolin clay, aluminum powder, ecowool, trefoil, peat, quartz sand and water.

Kulikov V.Yu., Eryomin E.N., Kovalyova T.V., Kvon Sv.S., Isagulova D.A. The choice of the main components of sand-resin forms for shaping in the conditions of variable pressing
Important question for casting molds is their structure. Traditionally main components of forms are filler (quartz sand) and binding (pitch). Besides the main components additives are used. For sand-pitch forms – it is kerosene and technical alcohol. Relevance of performance of this research is need of optimization of process of production of a shell form, that is compounding of structure and the technological modes. By results of researches the optimum structure.
Key words:The shell, a form, casting, pressure, pulverbakelit, adhesion, quality, structure, sand.

Krause G. Additive manufacturing – the future of foundry technologies

Piirainen V.Yu., Kiriyenko I.P., Makhova T.O. Metal art in the landscape design
Synthesis of the engineering and artistic design allows us to consider the possibility of applying advances in technology and materials science in the context of the gestalt pithiness, thanks to which the “essence of a certain” is embodied in the landscape design in the most pure and practically necessary form. The metal art, as a constructive basis of landscape design objects, allows one to modify and expand the possibilities of creative search of design concepts in the field of environment design.
Key words:Pithiness, landscape design, metal art.
