Ten E.B., Bazlova T.A. Metal science aspects of the welded defects quality analiysis on the steel castings
It is study of quality the welded defects on the castings from steel 20GL. It is showed that dress of defecting place by mechanical chopping is provide the forming of quality connecting of casting metals with welding metal along the all boundary of its interface. After welding of defecting place dressed by air-arc shaving on the interface of casted and welded metal are formed the defects as blow holes due to oxidization of dress surface and presence. The dress of defecting place by air-arc shaving with combination of mechanical trimming is provides the welding quality which equivalent the mechanical chopping. The materials science method of approach is cause is not only welding quality analysis, but also to expose the reason of providing the inadequate result.

Mukhina I.Yu., Duyunova V.A., Koshelev O.V., Koshelev A.O. Peculiarities of the elimination of metallurgical defects in intricate-shaped castings made of Mg alloys
Cast Mg alloys are used to manufacture different-walled shaped castings of variable crosssection applicable in different areas. In the process of production of molds from sandyclay and cold-hardening mixtures with the use of rods of different shapes and sizes, metallurgical defects can arise in some cases. The ways of their elimination were considered and investigated: welding-up technology and a new promising method of gasdynamic spraying of fine powders on the defective areas of Mg castings. Welding-up conditions, properties of the weld and heat-affected zone were studied. Recommendations on additional heat treatment conditions and filler wire compositions were offered. The analysis of the gas-dynamic spraying of Al powders was carried out, an influence of different powder compositions on corrosion properties, adhesion and tightness of the healed castings was investigated. Recommendations for the use of the new method were given.

A technology is proposed for casting wear-resistant composite materials based on porous steels impregnated with iron aluminides. The structure and testing of mechanical and performance properties of composite materials obtained by impregnating porous steel with 20 iron alumina (30% Al) were studied.

A technology for manufacturing high temperature-resistant monoxide corundum molds for investment casting with the use of Alumox binder was developed. This technology is a promising direction in precision casting of critical complex-shaped articles (especially the components of aviation gas turbine engine of the new generation) from chemically active high-heat-resistant alloys and refractory metals.

Shatulsky A.A., Golubentsev A.V. Improving the reliability of the blades of gas turbines by improving the casting process and surface modification
It is established that the reason for the low fatigue strength of castings of alloy ЧС88ВИ is the presence of shrinkage defects. The technology of insulation of molds and surface modification, providing the dense castings with the desired microstructure.

The article is focused on the manufacture of art castings using the method of vacuum-film molding. A variant of the vacuum-film molding with the use of the odd side is presented.
