Studied is the joint influence of silicon and vanadium on the quantity of spheroidal graphite inclusions and the “critical” chromium content that is necessary for the formation of trigonal type carbides, instead of cementite type carbides, and the distribution and concentration of chromium, silicon, vanadium and carbon in the metal base and carbide phase of chromiumnickel iron.

Douson S., Panov A.G., Gurtovoi D.A., Anikin S.A. Technology of stable obtaining of vermicular graphite in mass-produced castings
The basic principles of stabilization of receiving a high share of vermikular graphite in castings from CGI are presented in article. Technical realization of the principles and results of their application under production conditions are presented. It is shown that the developed technologies allow sharply to reduce costs of production of castings from CGI by scrap decrease and modifiers decrease.

Semyonov K.G., Batyshev K.A., Pankratov C.N., Chernov V.V. Peculiarities of melting and casting low-alloyed Cu-Fe alloys
For modern machine-building technologies it is necessary to create Cu alloys that combine high technological and mechanical properties. The low-alloyed Cu alloys with Fe are the most important materials for creating products in a number of modern engineering branches that are produced by the methods of casting technology. Analysis of thermodynamics of processes of melting Cu-alloys with Fe, as well as investigations to evaluate their casting properties have been conducted.

Efimov A.V., Potapov M.G., Chernov V.P. Properties of 150XHM steel castings after high-temperature treatment
The influence of high-temperature processing on the structure and properties of castings from steel grade 150ХНМ is studied. Modes of high-temperature processing are developed. Dependences of the effect of metal overheating on the improvement of the mechanical properties of castings are obtained. Examples of improving the quality of products due to the application of optimal high-temperature processing modes are given.

Dudchenko A.V. Optimizing the slot feeder design for accelerated mold pouring
Discussed is the possibility of optimizing the slot feeder design used in the gating system when making steel castings. The results of analyzing the operation of slot feeders from various producers are used for mathematical formalization of their peculiarities, which makes it possible to optimize the feeder design.

Doroshenko V.S. Investigations and technological developments for decarbonizing the precision casting processes
Discussed are the structure, results of investigations and technological developments for ice pattern precision casting using a number of peculiarities and phenomena observed in nature. Given are examples of moisture condensation from gaseous state, and a variant of large-lot production of art ice articles.

Discussed are methods of serial production of wristwatch bodies in art design from tin bronzes by casing with crystallization under pressure. A description of equipment for alloy preparation, design schemes and press-mold materials for one-off and serial production of castingsare given.

Discussed is the influence of shell mold sintering degree on its mechanical and technological properties. As a result of investigations, proposed is a technology in which the resin-bonded sand, after its supply onto the pattern plate, was subjected to pressure, which resulted in better shell mold and casting properties.

Piirainen V.Y. The relationship between the cold brittleness of bell bronze and the special features of church bell-ringing in winter time
From the positions of material science there is discussed the issue of using, for bells working at lower temperatures, materials having necessary cold resistance and cold brittleness. Given are recommendations on the chemical composition of bell bronze to ensure the necessary properties.
