At present about 50% of all machine parts are produced from cast iron, 80% of which, most critical ones, from nodular iron that is worldwide recognized as the only material for water pipelines – their warranty lifetime is 100 years. Our country being, along with the USA and England, the founder of this material, has so far not appreciated all the engineering-and-economic advantages of nodular iron application, and produces only about 5% of the total casting output. We believe that an accelerated growth of our country’s economy can be achieved within a short term by widely introducing this unique material in the industry.

The role of additives aluminum-containing galvanic sludge on technological characteristics of aqueous suspensions of silicate and physico-mechanical properties of ceramic material based on them.

The article presents the results of a study aimed at increasing the range of technological additives in sodium silicate mixture to improve the vybivaemosti. Given the technological evaluation of the use of filter-press the sludge of mustard and camelina oil as an additive that reduces the residual strength water-glass mixtures.
