Shemonayeva G.A., Abramov A.A. Work by OAO "TsNIIM" in the Field of Foundry
The article gives a retrospective of developments by foundry laboratories of OAO "TsNIIM" over 100 years of existence. The presented materials concern the development of cast irons, cast steels, titanium and aluminium alloys. The foundry equipment developed by the institute's specialists is briefly listed. The major foundry specialists who worked at the institute are mentioned.
Key words: casting, cast iron, steel, alloys, technology, equipment.

Kulakov B.A., Dubrovin V.K., Pavlinich S.P., Goykhenberg Yu.N., Karpinskiy A.V. Casting shapes from intermetallic titanium alloys
The paper describes the results of studies of properties and structure of three different intermetallic Ti-Al-alloys containing niobium, tantalum and chromium additions. Recommendations are given for producing shell molds based on low-silica ethyl silicate binder with various refractory fillers (Al2O3, Y2O3) for investment pattern casting of intermetallic alloy shapes.
Key words:Titanium, aluminium, intermetallics, macrostructure, microstructure, ceramic mold, ethyl silicate binder, casting.

Boguslayev A.V., Klochikhin V.V., Lysenko N.A., Naumik V.V. Inoculation of Heat-Resistant Alloy with Nanoparticles of Carbon
It is studied the influence of heatproof nickel alloy retrofitting with the differentnanosized carbon particles on a structure and physical-mechanical propertiesof turbine workings blades material of aviation engines.
Key words: colloid carbon, nanotubes, nanodiamonds, fullerens, microphraktografi, microstructure, heat treatment, mechanical properties.

Bondarenko Y.A., Yechin A.B., Surova V.A., Narsky A.R. Influence of Directional Crystallization Conditions on the Structure of Parts of the Gas-Turbine Engine Blade Type
The article gives results of a comparative study of influence of various methods of directional crystallization: with liquid metal chiller (LMC) and without it - Bridgeman method (HRS) on the conditions of directional crystallization and the structure of parts of the gas-turbine engine blade type cast in a heat-resistant alloy of the ZhS-32 type. It was found that the LMC method provides a (5 times) higher temperature gradient at the growth front as compared to the HRS method. The maximum temperature gradient (160…180°C/mm) was obtained by directional crystallization (LMC method) with liquid metal chiller - tin (Tchill? 300°C, with heat screen). Thereby, in cast parts of the gasturbine engine blade type there was obtained a fine dendritic structure in both thin section (leaf) and thick section (locking piece).
Key words: directional crystallization, liquid metal chiller, heat-resistant alloy, temperature gradient, interdendritic spacing.

Abramov A.A. On the Inoculation of Silumins
The article proposes an algorithm of searching inoculants for silumins in the Periodic System of Elements. Based on a study of mechanical properties and microstructure there was determined an optimum value of residual strontium concentration enabling inoculation of silicon in silumins. Results of strontium loss during maturation of the melt, and peculiarities of shrinking of silumins inoculated with strontium are given. The flow chart of the inoculation process and results of its industrial application are given.
Key words: inoculation, silumin, mechanical properties, microstructure, shrinkage, introduction.

Beresnev A.G., Marinin S.F., Razumovsky I.M., Butrim V.N., Tikhonov A.A. Hot Isostatic Pressing of Titanium Alloy Castings
Influence of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cast titanium alloys ВТ5Лand ВТ20Лwas investigated. Optimal HIP parameters were selected in the range of temperatures THIP = 870…960°C, pressure 140…150 MPa, and holding time 1…2.5 h. It is shown that application of HIP in the optimal mode to castings from alloys ВТ5Лand ВТ20Лprovides a narrower spread in values of ultimate strength ?В and in average values of fatigue strength ?-1.
Key words: cast titanium alloys, shrinkage porosity, hot isostatic pressing, mechanical properties.
