Voevodina M.A., Krushenko G.G. Modeling of Process of Filtration Refinement Metal for Purpose of Improvement Quality of Castings
The model of metal fusions filtrational refinement is developed. Continuous process fusion flow through the filter channels is presented as discrete interruption. For the estimation of filtration efficiency the parameter - the coefficient of the filter surface effective use is introduced.
Keywords: melt, nodular iron, nonmetallic inclusions, filtration.

Minenko G.N. On the Effect of Electric Current Treatment on the Fe-C Alloys Inoculation Process
Peculiarities of electric current treatment of Fe-C alloys during inoculation are discussed. Dependencies of increment of alloy strength on current density are given. Variation of inoculant dissolution rate coefficient under the influence of the current treatment of the melt was determined. Changes in the structure of so treated inoculated alloys were found. A physical model of current action on the crystallization centers based on their activation by the flow of conductance electrons is proposed.
Key words: electric current treatment, alloy inoculation process, dissolution of inoculant particles, activation of crystallization centers, enhancement of mechanical properties of alloy.

Golubtsov V.A., Rogozhina T.V., Ivanchikov Y.A. On the Methods of Out-of-furnace Metal Treatment Using "Ladle-Furnace" Units
For using out-of-furnace metal treatment using "ladle-furnace" units in foundries for improving their technical-and-economic indices and steel casting quality, analysis of specific cases of their application was conducted to show that their application in medium and large foundries is organizationally realizable.
Key words: out-of-furnace steel treatment, "ladle-furnace" unit, slide shutter, casting defects, automatic molding line.

Yevstigneyev A.I. , Petrov V.V., Dmitriyev E.A., Tarasova A.A., Masasi Y. Sand Families with Salt Binders
The article presents investigations into properties of sands using sulfates as binders. Data on the influence of the initial humidity of sand and drying temperature on the strength properties of hardened sand are given.
Key words: core sand, reclamation, binder, drying, strength.

Illarionov I.E., Mihaylov A.A. Sand and connecting on the basis of gypsum
Sand both connecting on the basis of calcium sulphate (gypsum) and their application in individual (job-lot) production of art and jeweller casts is observed.
Keywords: gypseous muck, dihydrate, anhydrite, a dehydration, estrih-plaster, a sand, the water-mass relationship connecting, flue gas, chemical gypsum.

Yevlampiyev A.A., Chernyshov Y.A., Grigoryev L.P. Experience in Adopting the Alfaset Process
Information on the selection of equipment and technology of core making from coldhardening sands in case of foundry reconstruction is given. Comparative parameters of strength gain kinetics and final strength levels of cold-hardening sand cores are given. Possibility of using cost-saving sands with lower binder content and reclaimed sand instead of fresh quartz sand is shown.
Key words: cold-hardening sand, hardening kinetics, bench life, strength, reconstruction, reclamation, core, mold.

Gruzman V.M., Shutkin Y.S. Possibilities of Accelerating the Hardening of Core Sand Based on Vegetable Oil
The features of the curing process of rods on vegetable oil by blowing hot air, the effect of temperature, pressure, cure time and heating of the box on the strength of finished rods. The results of the studies used in the manufacture of foundry rings, which are currently supplied from abroad and are made on the basis of expensive resins. Ring based on vegetable oils have been successfully tested under production conditions, and showed normal properties.
Key words: core sands, vegetable oils, oxidizing polymerization, acceleration of hardening process, hot air blowing, under-riser rings, knockout capability.

Chernov V.P., Nasonov P.N., Brylkin Y.A. Properties of Slagstone Castings Crystallized in Mold in Thermal Furnace
Nowadays, replacement of ferrous metal alloy products with less expensive materials is increasingly required. Such materials include cast slagstone products. Their main advantages include: high resistance in acidic and alkaline media, good abrasive wear resistance, and temperature resistance. But, because of the proneness to vitrification silicate melts require additional crystallization. Variation of wear resistance, alkali resistance and temperature resistance of castings crystallized in mold, and similar castings that underwent crystallization in a thermal furnace was studied.
Key words: foundry, wearing capacity, acid resistance, alkali resistance, thermal resistance, heat insulator, crystallizing, thermal processing

Bondarenko Y.A., Yechin A.B., Surova V.A., Narsky A.R. On the Directional Solidification Using Heat-Resistant Alloys
Effect of liquid-metal cooler temperature on the directional solidification conditions and structure of a heat-resistant alloy at directional crystallization of variablecross-section castings of the gas turbine engine blade type is discussed. It is shown that with an increase of the liquid-metal cooler temperature from 250…260 to 900…950°C the temperature gradient at the crystallization front proportionally lowers from 120 to 50°C/cm. At the same time, enlargement of dendritic constituents in the heat-resistant alloy structure is observed; the interdendritic space increases from 210 to 450 ?m. The minimal temperature gradient at the growth front, and the maximal interdendritic space are noted in case of directional solidification without the liquid-metal cooler.
Key words: directional solidification, liquid-metal cooler, heat-resistant alloy, temperature gradient, interdendritic space
