Ye.L. Furman et al. On the Role of Hydraulic Shock in Manufacturing Composite Castings
Discontinuity of filler of composite castings under hydraulic impact has been researched. It is shown that low pressure of hydraulic impact prevents surface non-impregnation. It is proposed to prevent both discontinuity of filler and surface non-impregnation by manipulation the terminal speed of melt with hydraulic stopper and bottom layer of small fraction filler.

Nazaratin V.V. Development of Fly-Ash-Based Heat-Insulating Mixes for Heat Insulation of Risers
Investigations into the production of heat-insulating mixes designed for heat insulation of risers, based on fly ashes from coal of the Ekibastuz, near Moscow and Kuznetsk deposits, with SS (sodium silicate) and OPA (orthophosphoric acid) binders, having the lowest possible density and thermal conductivity at a sufficiently high strength are described.

A.I. Yevstigneyev, V.V. Petrov, E.A. Dmitriyev (State Technical University, Komsomolsk-on-Amur) Sodium Silicate Bonded Sands with Improved Process Properties
Sodium silicate bonded sands with a polymer-clad filler have been investigated. Use of clad fillers has allowed to reduce the sodium silicate content in sand while considerably enhancing its strength as hardened, and considerably improving sand's shakeout properties.

A.N. Suchkov, Ye.V. Kuznetsov Effect of Mn, Cr, Cu, Ni and Mo Additions on the Structure and Properties of Hypoeutectic Gray Iron Made in Cupola
It has been shown that the improvement of strength properties of hypoeutectic synthetic and semi-synthetic cupola iron is most strongly influenced by Mo, Cr, Mn that considerably refine the structure of both the primary and secondary crystallization while enhancing the strength characteristics of ferrite. Ni and Cu additions have a lower effect on the improvement of properties, however, they enhance the quasiisotropy of cast iron, significantly reducing the dependency of its properties on the cooling rate.

V.P. Samarai Selection of Optimization Criterion. Compaction Degree of Sand Molds as a Risk Criterion of Casting Defect Formation
In clause results of research of the reasons of occurrence of defects casters, because of not optimum compaction of the form are resulted. The basic criterion for estimation and forecasting of probability of formation of casters defects is deduced.

S.S. Zatulovsky et al. Cast Bearing Composites of Higher Abrasion Resistance
Mechanism of abrasive wear of cast composition materials (steel granules in copper alloy matrix) in casted and thermal treated conditions are studied under influence of the discrete abrasives with different hardness as well as by sclerometric method.
